General Information and aim of the Institution:

The school was started in 1961 as an English Medium CoEducational School. The school is recognised by the Education Department of the Govt. of West Bengal.

Ideals and traditions have been built up through the years and the school trains the students to become useful citizen of our motherland, India. For facilitating individual attention, the number of pupils in a class is limited. Special attention is given to the moral tone and discipline of the School.

RULES OF THE SCHOOL

School Hours:

Pre-Nursery & Nursery: From 8:30 a.m. to 10:50 am
KG: From 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m
Class I, II & III: From 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m
Class IV & V: From 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m
Class from VI to XII: From 11:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m

Vacation:

There are three vacations during the year, the Summer Vacation, Puja Vacation and the Winter Break. Saturdays are holidays unless otherwise notified.

ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL:

A candidate who has attended any school cannot be admitted without a Leaving Certificate from the school last attended. A copy of the Birth Certificate registered in corporation / municipality is to be submitted.

Transfer Certificates may be given on payment of all dues till date and transfer fee. Before withdrawing a student from the school, a month's notice is to be given or a month's fee is to be paid. A student seeking Transfer Certificate any time from September onwards will have to clear all dues upto the end of the Academic session.

A student failing twice in a class in the annual examination is not allowed to continue studies in the school. A Transfer Certificate in that case is issued from the school.

ABSENCE:

a) Students who have been remaining absent from class must have the reason entered in the Regularity Record stating briefly the cause of the absence.

b) Every student must be present on the opening day of the School's New Session and after vacation.

c) A medical certificate of fitness must be produced for an absence due to infectious disease or any particular illness for a considerable period.

d) In addition to satisfying the academic standards, a student will have to put in atleast 80% of the attendance to justify promotion.

EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION:

Examination and class tests are held regularly throughout the year. Every student must appear in all class tests and other examinations. Promotion is based on continuous assessment and on the overall performance of the child.

DISCIPLINE:

1. Punctuality and regularity in attendance are strictly observed.

2. A student whose conduct is injurious to the ethical tone of the school or incompatible with strict discipline is liable to be prevented from attending school. Stealing, cheating will be dealt with very strictly.

3. Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence, habitual late coming, disobedience or objectionable behaviour of any kind may result in the suspension or removal of a student from the school.

4. School property damaged or destroyed by the student will require to be repaired or replaced by him / her.

5. Much stress is laid on personal cleanliness and smartness. A strict watch is kept on the students who are untidily dressed or in faulty uniform, they are liable to be sent home. It is extremely important for students to wear proper school uniform with regard to design, colour, monogram etc. All bags, pencil boxes, lunch boxes and water bottles should be labelled.

6. Students are subject to school discipline not only in the school premises but also at any other public place.

LEAVING THE SCHOOL PREMISES:

No student will be allowed to leave the school before the usual time for any reason whatsoever.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION:

Prizes are awarded once in a year for round the year performance (General Proficiency), for individual subject and for 100% attendance in school.

IMPORTANT NOTES TO GUARDIANS:

Parents and guardians are requested to co-operate with the school authority.

a) By urging their wards to be regular and punctual in attendance.

b) By following up the report which keeps them informed of the diligence in studies and the behaviour of the wards.

c) By seeing that their wards enter the given lessons in the school diary.

d) By insisting on neatness and cleanliness in their text books, exercise books, clothes etc.

e) By attending the Parent - teacher meetings.

N.B : Parents and guardians can meet the teachers only on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11.30 - 12:00 noon (Morning Section) and 4:45-5:00 p.m. (Day Section) with Principal's permission.

VISITING HOURS:

(To see Principal & Vice Principal)

a) For Day Section : 10:15 to 2 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday & Friday)

b) For Morning Section : 10:15 - 12:00 noon (Monday, Wednesday & Friday)

No school business will be transacted during holidays. Parents and Guardians are requested to keep in touch with the School Notice Board for certain information and changes that might occur from time to time on the given circulars.

IDENTITY CARD:

Parents and guardians of students of the Pre - Nursery section to Class V are requested to obtain Identity cards from the office. Identity cards must be shown at the gate by the escorts while taking back the wards from the school. A new identity card is being introduced which should be worn by each student everyday.

OFFICE HOURS:

School office will remain open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on all working days.
